Led by Founders and Community members of Sattva
Main Facilitators
YASMIN PAGE

Yasmin is an educator who has gone from teaching in mainstream secondary schools in the UK to facilitating the self-directed learning co-op here at Sattva. She is also a certified kids yoga instructor.
Her background is in secondary school/high school, teaching History, English and working with neurodiverse children. However, she has been on quite the journey from mainstream education in Sweden and UK, to alternative education (teacher at Inwoods Small School - a Krishnamurti school in UK). And from a few years back, becoming a part of an unschooling family together with her partner and three children.
This has been the deepest of work, untangling and relearning so many things that are being presented to us as natural, in a society that is far from it!
Curious about change, deepening and transformation...and how it all starts with ourselves, supported by relationship and community.
The unschooling/free learning path is the path on which she has learned the simplest and most fundamental principle - that we learn what we are interested in and through play and discovery.
SAM COMBS

Sam considers himself very fortunate to be in a guiding role at Sattva! A lifelong student of the natural world, Sam does his best to infuse all of the guest experiences with opportunities for deeply immersive learning and growing. Holding space for groups and individuals to connect with themselves and the people and places that they are visiting is an intrinsic part of Sam’s mission on any retreat, and he’s going to have a blast fulfilling that objective! Sam has been the General Manager at Sattva for many years, and when he’s not immersed in that role you can probably find him making music, movement, and chocolate with his family.
REBECCA STONE

Rebecca Stone, LCSW, is the founder and clinical director of Brooklyn Somatic Therapy, a boutique somatic therapy practice in NYC. As a psychotherapist, coach and trainer, Rebecca has taught and facilitated workshops across the country to various audiences on relational intelligence in the workplace, trauma first aid, post-traumatic growth, and the psychology of groups. She has also served as a teacher for The Hakomi Institute's comprehensive somatic psychotherapy training. She received certification in The Hakomi Method and Emotion-focused Couples therapy, and completed Attachment-Focused EMDR and Somatic Experiencing training. A graduate of Hunter College’s MSW program and group facilitator for people incarcerated for violent crime, her approach to healing is informed by an anti-oppressive lens and restorative justice.

GLORIA GLO
As a servant to movement, Gloria has built over twenty-five years of dance experience, from modern choreography to ballet and contemporary dance. The rhythm of her well-traveled feet has brought her to the exposure of more liberal dance movements, such as that of 5Rhythms®- a dynamic dance practice that moves to reveal the underlying patterns of everyday existence. Rooted in the wisdom of the body, and devoted to her calling to raise consciousness in the world, Gloria's teachings extend to Yoga, Tao-Tantric Practices, and Women's Reproductive Health. She is also a Visionary Artist, Mother of two and one of Founders of Sattva.

GIULIA GAROFALO

Giulia is a mother of two, raising her children in the broad-leaf rainforest of Belize. Her love and connection to natural systems is expressed through her experience in permaculture, forest gardening and the crafting of creative bioregional cuisine. Particularly drawn to the Cacao plant and its mythological roots to Mesoamerica, Giulia has cultivated an intimate relationship to this plant medicine over the past 10 years. Together with her partner Sam, she transforms local Cacao into a dark craft chocolate, known as Dragon Chocolate throughout Belize. Certified as a Sound Healing Practitioner, her innermost calling is to utilize the powers of Sound and Music as pathways to restoration and liberation.

BINNY KAGEDAN

Binny Kagedan is a somatic therapist, singer-songwriter and chant leader. Raised in a joyful and musical Jewish tradition, Binny's spiritual path has brought him into deep encounter with Zen Buddhism, bhakti yoga (devotional chant and mantra), and plant medicine. His journey has inspired him to create and share music that is both rooted in ancestral tradition and attuned to the stirrings of the modern heart
CLAUCO (PERMACARPENTER)

The name Permacarpenter comes from my love and dedication to both permaculture design and woodworking. I am one of the founders of Sattva. I am a finish carpenter and do everything from custom cabinetry to windows and doors, to unique, one-of-a-kind furniture pieces and gifts. My devotion to my craft stems from an intense satisfaction that I derive from turning concept into reality. I created The Permacarpenter in 2014 as a platform to showcase and sell quality, handmade products and to help people bring their own visions to life. Sometimes in today’s modern world we can forget the beauty in the natural, beautiful, and handmade.
